Delivery, replacement and cancellation
This page is for anyone who wants the terms in writing: what you may do with these figures, what we do with your details, and what happens after you buy a document.
Every figure on this site is a completed sale registered with the Dubai Land Department. Free to read, and free to quote.
What you buy here is a document. This page says what happens after you press pay, in the order it happens.
How it reaches you
Every report is one PDF file. It is emailed to the address you type at the payment screen, within the hour of payment, from editor@thedubaidesk.com. There is nothing to install, no locker to log into, and no second charge later.
If it does not arrive
Write to editor@thedubaidesk.com from the address you paid with and it is sent again. There is no limit on the number of times a file you have paid for will be sent to you, and you are never asked to pay twice for the same document.
If it is not what the page said it was
Every product page states, before you pay, how many pages the document has and what is in it. If the file you receive does not carry that, tell us and the corrected file is sent at no charge. The remedy for a wrong document is the right document, and it is the remedy we will always offer first, because it is the one that leaves you holding the thing you wanted.
Replacement rather than a refund
A PDF cannot be handed back once it has been read, so a completed one-off purchase is not refunded. It is corrected, or replaced, until it is what its page said it would be. That is the promise, and it is why the page before the payment screen shows you the cover and an inside page of the actual file, states its length, and names the person who sends it.
When money is returned
There is one case, and it is stated here because it is the honest one. Some documents are cut to order from the register, for a building or a layout you name at the payment screen. If the Land Department's register does not hold enough registered transactions to publish that document truthfully, we refuse the order and return the payment in full, within the hour. We will not pad a document to fill a page, and we will not keep money for a document we cannot honestly produce.
If you subscribe
Membership and the broker channel are monthly or yearly. You can stop them yourself, at any time, from your own account, and nothing is charged after that. What you have already paid for runs to the end of the period it covers, and it is not cut short. A part-month is not refunded.
Cancelling before anything is sent
If you paid by mistake, or changed your mind, write to editor@thedubaidesk.com before the file has been sent and the payment is returned in full. Because files go out within the hour, that window is short, which is the reason nothing on this site asks for a card until you have seen what you are buying.
Who you are dealing with
The Dubai Desk is published by Autonomix Global, a sole establishment licensed by the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai. The publisher, the person responsible for what is published and the contact address are on the legal page. Payments are taken by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout; this site never sees or stores a card number.
Your rights under the law
Nothing on this page reduces any right you have under the consumer protection law of the United Arab Emirates. Where this page and that law disagree, the law is what applies.
