Legal and editorial standards
This page sets out how The Dubai Desk operates as a publication, what it covers, what it does not cover, and how reader data is handled. It is updated when policies change.
About this publication
The Dubai Desk reports what property in Dubai actually sells and lets for, district by district and home by home, from the Dubai Land Department's own register of completed transactions. It publishes free pages for every district and every home in them, a weekly note on the notable resales, and paid documents described below. It is written and published by The Register Desk, a sole establishment licensed by Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism as an Internet Content Provider (licence 1652760, valid until 13 September 2027). Its owner is a five-year Jumeirah Golf Estates resident. The publication is published independently of Edwards & Towers' brokerage activity, with the explicit approval of E&T's managing director.
The Dubai Desk is paid for by one-off document sales, by membership, by a monthly channel for licensed brokers and by data licences, all set out under What is free here, and what is sold. A sister publication covers Jumeirah Golf Estates specifically, on our Jumeirah Golf Estates site, and sells its own reports on that estate. Both publications are published by The Register Desk, and the payments for both are taken by Autonomix Global, as the imprint below sets out.
Editorial independence
The Desk's owner is a licensed real estate agent in Dubai. No agent's listings, the owner's included, are promoted on this publication. Specific properties may be cited as market data, with disclosure where relevant. This is a standing rule and is not subject to commercial pressure.
The publication carries no third-party advertising in editorial content. The publication does not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage of any developer, brokerage, property, or community.
Sources and data
All published figures are computed from Dubai Land Department registered transaction records, retrieved from Dubai Land Department open data services and verified for completeness under the published method. No third party provider is used as a source for any published figure.
A note on time horizons. When a property changes hands in Dubai, the deal is struck the day buyer and seller sign Form F, the main contract of sale submitted by the agent through the DLD Brokers Portal. From Form F to transfer typically takes anywhere from one month to three and a half months for cash deals, longer for mortgage deals, longer still for off-plan transactions tied to developer payment milestones. The data this publication describes is registered transaction data, which means it reflects buyer commitments made weeks or months before the registration date.

Reader data submitted through this site (email signup forms, contact forms) is processed under UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). Submitted data is used to respond to inquiries, deliver the newsletter that the reader has signed up for, and contact the reader where the reader has explicitly requested that contact. Submitted data is not sold, traded, or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
Email subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email. Contact-form respondents can request data deletion by emailing editor@thedubaidesk.com.
Newsletter delivery and analytics are handled through Ghost (publishing platform) and Google Analytics 4 (anonymised site usage). Both providers operate under their own privacy frameworks.

Photographs of Dubai properties used on this publication are licensed for editorial use. Photographs of public spaces are used under fair-use editorial conventions. Specific property images are credited where required.

Corrections policy
Errors in factual reporting are corrected on the live web version of the affected page, with a brief editor's note documenting the change. Material corrections are flagged in the next bi-weekly issue. Email versions sent to subscribers cannot be retracted; corrections live on the public web record.

What is free here, and what is sold
Everything on this site that reports the register is free to read: a page for every district, and a page for every tower and community in it, carrying the last twelve months of registered resales and, where the register holds them, the registered rents. Nothing is asked for and no account is needed.
Four things are sold, and each is priced on its own page rather than here, so there is one place a price can be wrong instead of two.
- The Registered Record Report, one district at a time, as a PDF: the current year, any single earlier year, or the whole record. Bought once. There is a report for each of the districts the Desk publishes, and each one is described on its own page, for example Dubai Marina. Before any payment screen there is a page that shows what is in the file, what it costs, when it arrives and who sends it.
- The registered rents for one address and layout, as a PDF, in the districts where the tenancy register holds enough of them to publish. Bought once.
- Membership, monthly or yearly, described on the about page: every district report as it publishes, and the notes that do not appear on the open site.
- The agent channel, monthly, described on the agents page: a market letter a licensed broker sends to their own clients under their own name. It is sold only to a broker whose registration number the Dubai Land Department confirms.
- A data licence, yearly, described on the data licensing page, for a firm that wants the underlying figures rather than the documents.
Delivery, replacement and cancellation
A one-off report is a PDF and is emailed within the hour of payment, to the address given at the payment screen. If it does not arrive, write to editor@thedubaidesk.com and it is sent again. If the file does not carry what its page said it carries, the corrected file is sent: the remedy for a wrong document is the right document. A monthly subscription is cancelled by the reader at any time from their own account, and access runs to the end of the period already paid for.
