The figures, free to quote

Every figure on this site may be quoted, reproduced and charted, in print or online, at no cost and without asking, on one condition: credit the Dubai Land Department as the source and this site as where you read it, and state the date the register was read to. That is not a courtesy, it is what makes the figure checkable by your reader.

How to credit it

In a sentence: Source: Dubai Land Department, via The Dubai Desk, register read to 4 September 2026. With a link, the site address is enough. If you are quoting a figure for one building, the sentence to lift is the one at the top of that building’s own page, which always carries the place, the window and the source together, like this:

In the twelve months to 4 September 2026, 4,146 homes were registered as resales in Jumeirah Village Circle, across 245 buildings and projects. Source: Dubai Land Department registered transactions, the register read to 4 September 2026.

What the numbers are, and what they are not

Every figure is a price a buyer and a seller registered with the Dubai Land Department. None of them is an asking price, a listing, an estimate or a valuation, and none is modelled. A median is published only where a building or project registered eight or more resales in the window; between three and seven the range is published and no median; below three, the count and no price at all. Registrations that are not a home changing hands at what a home is worth, such as gifts, transfers at a nominal price and car parking spaces, are counted but never priced.

Tables you can put on your own page

Every district has a table built to be embedded in another site, free, with the figures live: the embeddable tables. They update when the register is read again.

Asking for something else

A figure for a building, a district or a window that is not published here can usually be computed from the same register. Write to editor@thedubaidesk.com. The published method is at https://www.thedubaidesk.com/method/ and how to cite a figure at https://www.thedubaidesk.com/cite/.
